Happy Adoption Day!

We're celebrating National Adoption Day with a trip to a candle light ceremony
that honors the adoption triad of birth family, adoptee, and adoptive family.
Mike and I will introduce our family and talk for a few minutes about our experience.
We will then light the candle in honor of adoptive families.

We're also celebrating ...

... ten whole months.

Can you believe it?

And thanks for the super cutie outfits, Mike and Karen!

Catching Up - Months 9 and 7

Jess smiles and laughs when we get her from her crib, pats your back when you pick her up, is sleeping so much better now (sleeps mostly through the night), plays patty-cake and claps her hands together when you say yea jess!, is cutting her second tooth, crawls everywhere, pulls herself up on anything (my leg, ottoman, crib, gate) and stands there and SCREAMS until rescued, will venture to take one or two steps, throws periodic tantrums, screams when I leave the room, is obsessed with Lacey and Angus, is learning how to pet gently, holds her own bottle and downs the whole 6 ounces, prefers sweet potatoes and squash to any kind of fruit, and loves yogurt (I'm talking big mmm mmm good love here).

Brandon has two teeth, is cute as a button (OK, you already know that), sleeps through the night (every night!), has the low crawl mastered (any drill instructor would be proud), can take about 4 or 5 proper crawls (steps?) before flinging himself forward on his belly, loves playing with balls, takes toys from Jess & Fletcher, hoards toys (and chee.rios), whines if he's not being held, whines when we leave the room, is not a great formula drinker, pretends he can't hold a bottle so you'll do it, is a great eater - in addition to baby food, he'll chow down no black beans, chicken, tomatoes, whatever - and like Jess has a huge love for yogurt.

Fletcher is sitting pretty much unassisted, except for the occasional topple, rolls all over and can maneuver around that way, makes the silliest faces accompanied by crazy noises, puts everything in his mouth, including his brother and sister's limbs, laughs and giggles all the time, leans sideways to look at things from a different perspective, is having some trouble sleeping, seems to be working on cutting a tooth, splashes all of the water out of his tubby, is learning how to throw tantrums (thanks, Jess), has gotten more demanding, plays well independently, and is a great eater - he yums his way through just about anything.

Fun For The Whole Family

I'm not sure if you can tell from the pictures, but Fletcher rocks a faux-hawk.

Every day.

And it makes us smile.

I play with it a lot.

What I did not know ...

... is that our little Bran Muffin likes to play with it, too!

Just to See You Smile

That country song immediately came to mind when I took this picture!

Look who graduated to the big kids tub!
